Learn how to set up and use Filter Forms to protect your contact forms from spam
Welcome to Filter Forms
Filter Forms is an AI-powered form builder that automatically filters out spam before it reaches your inbox. Stop wasting time sorting through junk submissions and never miss another legitimate customer request.
How Filter Forms Works
Filter Forms uses AI to analyze every submission against your custom instructions. Here's the simple workflow:
- Create a form - Build your contact form with the fields you need
- Add AI instructions - Tell the AI what makes a legitimate submission for your business
- Configure destinations - Set where approved submissions should be sent (email, webhooks, Google Sheets)
- Embed on your site - Copy and paste a simple code snippet
- Watch spam disappear - Real submissions get approved, spam stays in quarantine
Quick Start Guide
Step 1: Create Your First Form
- Sign in to your Filter Forms dashboard
- Click "Create New Form"
- Give your form a name (e.g., "Contact Form")
- Add form fields by clicking "Add Question"
- Choose field types: text, email, textarea, etc.
- Mark required fields
- Add placeholder text
Step 2: Configure AI Filtering
The AI filter is what makes Filter Forms powerful. In your form settings:
- Navigate to the "AI Instructions" section
- Describe what legitimate submissions look like for your business
Example instructions:
The more specific your instructions, the better the AI performs.
Step 3: Set Up Destinations
Approved submissions need somewhere to go. Filter Forms supports multiple destinations:
- Email [blocked] - Send to your inbox
- HTTP Webhooks [blocked] - Connect to your own systems
- Google Sheets [blocked] - Automatically log submissions
You can add multiple destinations to send approved submissions to different places.
Step 4: Style Your Form
Customize your form to match your brand:
- Navigate to "Style" in your form settings
- Adjust colors, fonts, and spacing
- Preview changes in real-time
- Save when you're happy with the design
Step 5: Embed on Your Website
- Go to "Embed Code" in your form settings
- Copy the provided code snippet
- Paste it into your website where you want the form to appear
- The form is now live and filtering spam!
What Happens to Spam?
Submissions that don't pass the AI filter go into "Spam Jail" where you can:
- Review them to ensure nothing was incorrectly filtered
- Manually approve legitimate submissions if needed
- Permanently delete spam
- Train the AI by providing feedback
